Monday, August 10, much of Iowa, and parts of Illinois and Wisconsin experienced a Derecho, a storm similar to a hurricane. With wind in excess of 110 mph for over 20 minutes, covering all 75 square miles of our beautiful city, you can imagine the devastation we are facing. The sound of chainsaws and service vehicles as neighbors and workers clear our streets and homes of downed trees and power lines has been constant since the storm passed and is a reminder that recovery is underway.
Thank you for the many thoughts and prayers being sent our way. We are so sorry we have not been able to quickly provide the information you need on specific cases at this time. Once power and phones are restored we will reach out to you on in-progress cases.
Thankfully, our employees are safe and the laboratory experienced no damage. Power, Internet, and phone service are slowly coming back online around Cedar Rapids and today’s update from Alliant Energy indicates we should have power restored at DPS by 6:00pm Monday the 17th!
We are all eager to get back to what we love – making smiles and serving our customers! Now that cellular service is at least partially restored, I invite you to call any of the cell phone numbers listed below (8am-5pm)
Our drivers will begin providing pick up and delivery service Monday, August 17th.
Again, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the prayers and good wishes being sent our way! We are proud and grateful to be part of this amazingly supportive dental community and look forward to being able to serve you very soon!
All the best,
Kristine Van Cleve, PresidentDental Prosthetic Services, Inc
