Making a Great Impression – Best practices for precise final restorations  (Des Moines Date Added)

3M Impression 2Course Description: This course will provide tips for both doctors and assistants to perfect their impressioning skills for a successful crown seat. Through our best practices, you will learn the latest information on retraction, trays, materials, and techniques for the final impression.

From preparing the intaglio surface of the crown to picking the correct cement for the best clinical outcome, you will sharpen your cementation knowledge with the RelyX family of cements, which can be used on many of the new materials being introduced by labs.

Course Objectives:

  • Upon completion of this course, participants will:
  • Understand proper tissue retraction, syringing, timing, and tips on how to make a perfect “first impression”
  • Select the appropriate impression material
  • Recognize the monetary impact of impressioning
  • Understand cement recommendations for the most common crown and bridge materials

About the Speaker: Dan is a 1982 graduate from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry. He joined 3M in 1983 and has 31 years of experience in the dental division. Dan has held positions in the areas of Research, Product Development, Technical Service, Scientific Affairs Management, Digital Training Manager and Professional Relations.

Dan has expertise in the area of adhesives, composites, impression materials, chemical and prefabricated provisional crowns, indirect restorative systems (zirconia-based ceramics) and cements. He has broad experience lecturing to dentists, assistants and lab technicians globally.

You will also gain the confidence to treat all patients in a more comprehensive manner, improving patient overall health.

About the Speaker:  Practicing in Longmont, Colorado, Dr. Ryan Lewis has pioneered innovation in prosthodontics. He has been recognized by his peers in the field of digital dentistry, winning the scientific writing award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2015. His innovation, skill and passion in the field of dentistry has set him apart and provided his patients with exceptional results.

Dr. Ryan Lewis received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Murray State University in 2006. He then proceeded to earn his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 2011 at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry. Dr. Lewis then completed a 3-year post graduate training program in Prosthodontics at the University of Louisville in 2015. Dr. Lewis is a Member of many prestigious dental associations such as: The American College of Prosthodontists, American Dental Association and International Team for Implantology. Dr. Lewis also specializes in complete oral rehabilitation and has volunteered his dental services in Haiti (2010) and the Philippines (2011).
