Customer Care Specialist  -Part time

Dental Prosthetic Services has an opportunity for a Customer Care Specialist. As a member of our Customer Care team, you will be responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing cases, providing world class service to our customers and performing a variety of other administrative tasks.  You will be given the tools and resources to make a difference in the lives of the patients we serve while adding to the growing success of our Agile work environment that values smart, capable, creative people who are able to work in self-organizing teams. Personal accountability, courage, curiosity, a willingness to learn and respectful interactions are a MUST.  Successful candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.  Minimum one year customer service and/or administrative experience required.  Previous experience in a dental office setting is a plus. Hours are 2:00-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Dental Technician –

If you like doing precision work with your hands, are detailed and artistic, a career as a dental technician may be for you. Dental Laboratory Technology combines science and art. Dental technicians seldom work directly with patients however; they are a critical member of the dental care team. They work closely with dentists’ to create dental restorations that are both attractive and functional.  Our employees value the opportunity to improve patients’ quality of life by improving their appearance and health.  We take great pride in crafting restorations for patients in Iowa, and across the United States.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Learn basic tooth anatomy
  • Learn to fabricate orthodontic dental appliances including retainers, splints and mouth guards
  • Learn to read and interpret dental prescriptions
  • Become familiar with wide range of materials
  • Develop technical knowledge to make decisions when fabricating dental prosthesis.
  • Use various types of hand tools and equipment (electric drills, presses, lathes, high-heat furnaces, etc.)
  • Learn to recognize problem cases that need additional information
  • Learn to work independently and seek help if needed
  • Provide administrative support within the department using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
